Field Score simplifies on-target score entry. It automatically adds
arrow values, tracking everything from a single end to a complete
round for multiple archers. Data is persistent and automatically
saved, even if you close your browser, switch apps, or restart your
phone.
âī¸ Setup
âļ
Most settings are optional unless you are submitting official
scores to the Records Officer. You can return to the Setup screen
to change this information at any time.
-
Scorer Name: enter your
name. Note the scorer is
not automatically added to
the shooting roster - add yourself manually if you're also
shooting.
-
Select Round: choose your
round. This sets target sizes and distances per end, flags the
final end, and enforces 5-zone scoring constraints where
applicable.
-
Bespoke Rounds: if your
round isn't listed, choose
Custom and enter the details
(distances, target size, dozens) in the additional information
box.
-
Date & Location:
defaults to today's date and "Home" - adjust if necessary.
-
Target Roster: add every
archer on your boss along with their bow style. Archers can be
added or edited later if needed.
-
Start / Resume: tap to begin
or return to scoring.
đ¯ Scoring
âļ
-
Navigation: move between
archers with Next / Prev, or
tap a name directly via
View Roster. Using
Next on the last archer
returns to the first and adds a new end. You can also tap an end
number to jump to it, though this isn't normally needed.
-
Arrow Entry: input arrow
scores - they sort automatically from highest to lowest. For
ends with fewer than 6 arrows, just tap
Next once you're done.
-
Corrections: tap
Delete to erase the last
arrow entered. To change an earlier arrow, tap it directly and
select the revised score.
-
Retiring Archers: select an
archer and choose Retire to
stop scoring them - the app skips them during normal rotation.
"Un-Retire" them from the Roster menu at any time.
-
Roster Order: drag the
vertical dot handle next to an archer's name to match your
physical target sheet.
-
Scoresheet View: tap
Scoresheet in the Roster to
open a full target sheet in a new tab (best viewed in
landscape). Switch tabs back to return to scoring without losing
data.
đ Handing Over Scoring
âļ
If you need to pass scoring duties to another archer mid-round,
use one of these three seamless methods.
-
QR Code (fastest):
requires both phones on the field. Tap
Handover QR Code in the
Roster - the new scorer scans it with their camera to open the
app with all live data instantly synced.
-
Email Link: tap
Submit, choose
OK in the dialog to open an
email draft, change the "To" address to the new scorer's email,
and send. They click the link at the top of the email to load
the active session on their device.
-
Messaging Link: tap
Submit, then choose
Cancel in the dialog to copy
the session data to your clipboard instead of opening an email.
Paste it into WhatsApp or a text message - they only need to tap
the first "Handover URL" link to take over.
đ¤ Submitting Information
âļ
Once the round is complete, you can submit the official
scoresheet.
-
Tap Submit to bring up a
dialog explaining your two options.
-
Choose OK to launch your
phone's default email app with a pre-composed message, with the
Records Officer's address already in the "To" field (which you
can change, or add recipients to, before hitting
Send).
-
Choose Cancel if you don't
want to create an email - this instead copies the entire
scoresheet text to your clipboard so you can paste it (Ctrl+V or
Long-Press) into webmail, WhatsApp, or another messaging app.
-
Important: don't reset your
app data until you receive a confirmation email back from the
Records Officer. Data is never cleared automatically, so if a
submission fails or doesn't arrive, you can simply tap
Submit again.
đī¸ Resetting Data
âļ
Because the app is designed to prevent data loss during phone
restarts or browser closures, your old scores stay active when you
reopen the tool. To start a new shoot you must
manually reset the data -
since this is permanent and unrecoverable, the app requires
two separate confirmations
before wiping the system for your next session.
